Thank you!
I also really hope it happens, though, to be fair.
This is the official blog for - you guessed it - my so far untitled genderswapped Sherlock Holmes webseries. This will be the base of operations while I brainstorm, recruit, and generally try to get the Kickstarter and then the series itself off the ground.

In which I discuss why Sherlock Holmes and John Watson were men - and then beg for your help in making them women.
sauntered-vaguely-downwards asked: So as I said on my tumblr, I am going to sleep, just two quick questions. 1. How will Sherlock's name be changed name/are we? I'm assuming John turns to Joan, but what about Sherlock's name? 2. What is Sherlock's sexuality going to be? Not as important, but if bring Irene Adler is brought in (who, again I'm assuming so please tell me if I'm wrong, will be made male) they're dynamic will have to be decided on.
1. Sherlock will be staying Sherlock because being a one in a million sort of name, I think it’s androgynous enough to stay. I’m actually thinking I might change John to Jane to separate this from Elementary stuff.
2. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to genderswap Irene or not. I think it would be interesting to keep her female, but at the same time, in ACD canon, Irene (…Ian?) is straight and getting married, which is something the recent adaptations have compromised, or in the case of BBC, deleted entirely, and I’d like to sort of bring that back. Either way, Sherlock will probably be as enigmatic and uninterested in her own sexuality as always, with perhaps a bit of implied gay. I do love the implied gay.
Dear followers,
I love every single one of you.
My ask box is open for title ideas and other requests, and my submit section is open for longer ideas and applications to be a part of the project.
Here is a gif hug.

If you’re serious, I would love to be a writer for this. I’m not sure about my quality, but I have loads of experience, and am familiar with BBC and ACD canon.
I am absolutely serious. I want multiple episodes to happen, and there’s no way they’re going to if I’m the only writer.
I’m going to be basing more heavily off of ACD canon - mostly because I don’t want the BBC to come knocking on my door, and the copyright situation there seems a little wibbly wobbly. However, there might be a little unintentional mingling because the most effective way to do a genderswap is to have it be modern - otherwise there’s a whole new slew of concerns and costume issues. And in doing a modern update based heavily on ACD canon, you know, BBC did it first.
elizabethkate asked: As said, I am so in on this. I think it's amazing and with the power of the internet it's totally possible! I did a lot of improv in high school, nothing formal, but I can act passably. But more importantly, I did script-writing for my drama group by adapting books and plays for us. So I do think I have something to offer in that department. Basically, I think this is really awesome and I want to be involved because I love Femlock and Sherlock. :)
Fantastic! I’ll take whatever you’ll give. I’m planning to include plenty of canon characters - though some may get an update, based on what I think I’m going to try to do - and I’ll need any and all people willing to act, especially those who will act for fun, and without salary.
Adapting is exactly what I’ll need. Consider yourself on the list.
sauntered-vaguely-downwards asked: So, I assume if this is really going to be a thing, then you'll need writers and barnstormer's. So um, I'd love to volunteer. Obviously you'll have a lot of people volunteering for writing, but I can send things I already have written as reference. If you'd like a resume I have one of those too...
Resumes unnecessary. Writing references on the other hand, would be useful. Either way, there are plenty of helpful things that can be done long distance, and yes, I would love some other writing/brainstorming input.
I think I’m going to make a video tomorrow so people know I’m real and really dedicated, and then anyone who’s interested will be roped into a group chat thing where brains will be stormed.
I’m publishing this just so anyone else who’d like to write/help knows.
Why couldn’t there be a Femlock series though? Akjashdhjsjk this is absolutely brilliant.
I want to be a writer or something for this.
I want/need all of the help I can get. Seriously. What I’d really like to do is include everyone who wants to assist in some sort of… group chat/think tank. From there, I can sort of bounce ideas around and share my… Well, you know, artistic vision, whatever, and then from there, we begin.
